Branding for The Holding Pattern Show 2025
I was commissioned to develop the visual identity for The Holding Pattern: Welcome Back Show 2025, the annual fall exhibition featuring faculty, staff, and returning MFA students.
In close collaboration with the curators, I developed a dynamic and adaptable visual language that reflects the collective and transitional nature of the exhibition. The concept responds to the idea of a “holding pattern”, a moment of pause, return, and anticipation, translating it into a flexible graphic system that conveys movement, layering, and convergence.
The identity was designed to support a large and diverse group of featured artists while maintaining clarity and cohesion across materials. I established a typographic hierarchy and modular layout system capable of accommodating extensive artist listings and event information without losing visual impact.
The resulting branding system was applied across print and digital formats, creating a consistent yet energetic presence for the exhibition. The visual language reinforces the exhibition’s role as both a welcoming gesture and a collective statement at the beginning of the academic year.
