Brand Book Design for Otbasy Bank
I led the design and development of a comprehensive brand book for Otbasy Bank — one of the largest and most recognized banks in Kazakhstan, best known for its mortgage services and strong connection to families across the country.
As the lead designer, I created a cohesive visual language that reflects the bank’s core values: trust, accessibility, and optimism. The identity balances professionalism with warmth, using vibrant, friendly color palettes, carefully selected typography, and a flexible layout system designed to feel both modern and approachable.
A key part of the project was developing a scalable visual system adaptable to branches nationwide. Since regional offices operate with varying production budgets, the brand guidelines included cost-conscious solutions — ensuring materials could remain visually strong and stylish even with limited resources. I defined clear recommendations for paper types, print production, layout grids, and banner formats, allowing for consistency without compromising practicality.
To support intuitive navigation within the brand book itself, I designed a custom icon system that guides users through sections and simplifies access to technical instructions. The system was built to be accessible for designers of different skill levels, making it easy to apply, adapt, and maintain across teams.
Another core challenge was bilingual implementation. All materials are produced simultaneously in two languages, so I developed layouts — including innovative dual-sided pamphlets — that function seamlessly from either direction, preserving hierarchy, clarity, and visual balance in both languages.
The result is a comprehensive and adaptable brand system that empowers Otbasy Bank to communicate consistently across the country — maintaining a friendly, family-oriented presence while operating at a national scale.
